Save the Date
You've already got plenty of things posted on your 2025 calendar. If you haven't already, please add the 2025 Spring Celebration, which will be held on Saturday, April 26, in Myerstown, to your calendar. Like last year, we'll be doing recitals all day, beginning at 10 am and continuing into the evening. You'll be given access to the sign-up sheets to secure your spot. This means your time will come later, but for now, we just want to be sure you're available!
As you're saving the date, if you're inviting others, be sure to tell them too. Yes, there is plenty of room for lots of people so bringing others would be very appropriate.
Snow Days
Please be aware of our policy concerning snow days, which you can find it on our webpage under the FAQs. Should we cancel due to inclement weather, we will make up the first missed lesson. Unfortunately, we are unable to make up subsequent misses.
Hopefully this won't be an issue, but from one winter to another, we never know how our lessons are impacted by the weather. We follow the closings of the ELCO school district.
Stone Ridge Poplar Run Performance Opportunity
We will again meet at Stone Ridge Poplar Run for a program in their gathering room Tuesday, February 18, 2025. This would involve about 15 students. Please be aware that students who have Tuesday evening lessons are especially welcome to play as the program would take the place of lessons.
Perhaps your student may be invited or asked to participate. If you have a desire to play, please do not be shy about expressing interest to your teacher. NOW is the time to be preparing for that!!
Forte Calendar Year
Remember that our promise to you is that we will offer you 36 lessons in the school year from the beginning of September to the end of June, the 10 months that you pay. For some teachers, if there are no missed lessons, the 36th lesson will come early in June. For others we will be teaching through the 3rd & 4th weeks of June. If you are unsure of the schedule, please be talking with your teacher.
This means our summer schedule is for July & August and lessons during this time are optional. While several teachers will offer lessons, others may join you in taking the break. Please be talking with your teacher about their intentions.
Summer Zando
During the July & August pause where you may or may not be taking regular lessons, we will offer a few choices for your music enrichment. While I don't yet have official sign-ups for these, if you know you'd like to be a part of one these, you surely may contact me & our list will begin!
Piano Guts
If you are completing 4th grade or are older, you are welcome to participate in Piano Guts where we spend 3 consecutive mornings dismantling a piano. We learn a great deal when we see all the insides! Limited to 6 students at a time there will be 2 offerings this year if there is interest. Repeats are welcome and so are outside students should there be available spots.
- Piano Guts I: June 30 - July 2, 9:30 am- 12:00 pm
-Piano Guts II: July 29-31, 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
Other Camp Opportunities
-Composition, July 14-18 for students in or past Piano Safari 2 or Piano Adventures 2A. Morning. All eligible students should do this!!
-Cups, Buckets & Whackers, July 21-25; Morning
Music Craft
I was shown a picture of piano key angels. I'm planning on making some and since we're taking apart 2 pianos, we'll have the materials to do it this summer! If you'd like to help me, I'm reserving Friday, August 8 for the project. The more the merrier. Start at 9:00 am.
Used Lesson Books
If you have old music books laying around that you don't want to keep, please don't throw them out. Were you ever part of the group that didn't bring their books to lessons? Many of you are in that club so doubles of books is very valuable. We'll keep what you don't want. Just bring them in!
Reviews
Some of you have been kind to write reviews on google for us. That helps others as they are considering where to take their music lessons. If you've been pleased, would you consider adding to the reviews found on Google?
Thank you, parents, for all your valuable support of your young musicians! It doesn't go unnoticed, and it makes substantial difference in the progress of each student. Be sure that as students practice, they beget progress, resulting in motivation. It's a wheel that continues spinning.
